***Please read before packing and shipping your carburetor!***
Packing and shipping a carburetor requires careful attention, as it is a precision component. Proper carburetor packing is essential for its safety during transit. If you have a carburetor-specific shipping box, use it, as these boxes are engineered to securely support the carburetor and minimize movement. If a specific box isn’t available, utilize a sturdy regular box and adhere to the proper carburetor shipping tips outlined below.
First, completely drain all fuel from the carburetor and allow it to air out. Next, wrap the entire carburetor tightly in plastic wrap or a bag to shield it against moisture and prevent small particles from contaminating the carburetor. Place a solid layer of cardboard at the bottom of the box, followed by a layer of crunched paper. Position the wrapped carburetor on top of this base, and then construct a tight cardboard cradle around the carburetor. Reinforce the corners and ends for double support, ensuring that cardboard surrounds the carburetor on all sides. Fill any gaps with brown packing paper or newspaper, ensuring there are no holes that could allow any part of the carburetor to push through the box. Inside the box, there should be absolutely no movement.
If you hear rattling when shaking the box, it means the carburetor is not packed correctly.
**Do not use:**
- Packing peanuts
- Spray foam
- Any type of bubble wrap
These materials are prone to breakage, may migrate into the carburetor, and lead to contamination. The peanuts and bubble wrap can break down, resulting in inadequate protection for your carburetor.
Inside the box, please include:
- Payment, if paying by check.
- If paying electronically, please utilize the "purchase now" feature on the home page.
- Use a trackable shipping service.
- Insurance is strongly recommended, as damage from improper packaging is typically not covered by the shipping company.
Please remember not to rely on memory or past builds. Do not assume we “already know.” Ensure you have our updated shipping address.
Each carburetor is treated as its own individual build. Carburetors received without a completed spec sheet may be delayed until the necessary information is provided.
**Final Reminder:** Carburetor is wrapped in plastic wrap, proper cardboard supports, and no movement. Avoid using bubble wrap or foam.
If your combo changes, make sure your spec sheet is updated as well.
